Creating Posters for our Class

This week we have been creating posters to share our top tips for keyboard shortcuts.

We practised using the Shift Key to select more than one object. Also to resize objects and keep their shape.

Try holding down the Shift Key when you are resizing  a circle so it doesn’t turn into an egg shape.

When posters are ready to share we will upload to our blog. Mrs Nelson want to print them for our walls. This will be very helpful.

Do you have a favourite keyboard shortcut? Let us know in the comments.

Practising using our Touchpad

We need to take care using our touchpad. When we drag objects we use one finger and swipe our touchpad gently.

Sometimes we use one finger on our hand to press and hold our touchpad and a finger on our other hand to move objects.

When we get good at this we can also use one hand.

Let us know in the comments if you use one or two hands when using your touchpad.

Right Place at the Right Time with the Right Attitude

Practising our Basic Facts
Practising Our Typing

We are learning to navigate our Chromebook so we can find our learning faster.

We have bookmarked our learning site. We are practising how to move a doc into a folder and find it again quickly.

It took our whole class 1 minute and 3 seconds to find our doc in our Drive today. Next week we are going to try for a faster time.

We are also making Cybersmart choices about where we are on our Chromebooks so we are always in the

Are there any blog comments to read?

Kawa of Care by Caylee and Room 15

Today Room 15 watched a video of learners demonstrating the Kawa of Care. We challenged ourselves to spot all the examples in the video. All our ideas were recorded on the whiteboard and we took a photo to share on our blog.

Caylee used the slides recording tool to read our list.

We are excited to be getting our Chromebooks this afternoon. Mrs Grant has shared a bookmark challenge on our class site to help us to be in the right place at the right time, with the right attitude.

Something Special

Today we shared some of the special things we have at home that are important to us and our whānau. These things are precious, like a pet, a special picture or object or family heirloom. This could be something special that has been passed to us from our grandparents.

We talked about how we look after our special things and keep them safe. We know it is important to hold them carefully and to have a special place to keep them. When we take care of our special things we are able to enjoy them for a long time.

We drew our special things and shared them with each other. We are looking forward to sharing on our individual blogs soon.
